Roger Dore of Montague, MI had an exciting hound hunt with Josiah Killingbeck on the first day of the hunt. The bear never treed but was able to be harvested on the ground while the dogs kept it at bay. Nice job Roger!
AKC registered yellow English Labs. Mom and dad are both fantastic waterfowl hunters. This will be their 3rd litter. Many puppies from the previous 2 litters have gone on to hunt grouse, pheasant, waterfowl and sheds. We have a few picks left for anyone looking for their own hunting companion!
Jim Tieman, of Saline, MI teamed up to harvest an awesome gobbler for the first hunt in Unit K! Jim had several turkeys come in early in the day and was able to harvest this fine tom when he came in with 2 other gobblers the same size. Good Job Jim, good shooting!
The Dead Stream Guide Service had a successful spring beaver instruction school! Above is a photo of part of a days catch. The Guide Service and students were able to trap 28 beaver in 2 weeks!

Mike Zsenyuk and his wife Dorothy, of Saline, MI teamed up with the Dead Stream Guide Service to take an awesome cow Elk within the first 2 hours of the winter season. The team had spotted a group of cows and bulls and after a 400 yard stalk made their way to a ridge where Mike put a great shot on the big cow at 200 yards. Congratulations to Mike and Dorothy on an awesome hunt!
Being early enough in the hunt, Mike was able to get his cow elk to the Atlanta elk pole and was not only the first cow elk, but also the first elk of the season! Despite having a bluebird day and seventy degree temps, Mike Pando and crew from Northville, MI hunted hard and were able to harvest several birds throughout the day.
Making their annual opening day tradition, Paul Dodson and crew from Buchanan, MI had an outstanding waterfowl opener, harvesting several ducks and geese throughout the day.
